Brian was captain of his high school team in Salt Lake City during his junior and senior years, and was All-State in Utah his senior year.  Brian played two years at St. Louis University under legendary coach Harry Keough and played on very successful men's teams in Salt Lake City, Ankara (Turkey) and San Diego. After returning from Turkey, he obtained a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1989. 

Brian then attended Lehigh University, where NASA funded his master of engineering degree in Materials Science.  He spent 11 years as a research scientist in the area of alloy development but left to pursue a career as a soccer coach. He is in his 20th year as a coach and is experienced coaching everyone from 6 year old children, to U16 boys ODP and college men.

Locally, he has coached the varsity boys team at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale from 2002 - 2004 (El Camino League champions 2002-03), Foothill College assistant soccer coach to Vava Marques (California Coast Conference co-league champions 2003), Menlo College, and has coached or trained CYSA teams for several different clubs on the San Francisco Pennisula. 

Brian recently returned from a coaching course in Jaragua', Brazil to learn how to coach Futsal (July, 2005), and he obtained a coaching license from the Brazilian Futsal Association (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol de Salão). 

Brian is married (Nicole) and has two boys (Keegan and Donovan) and two dogs (Pele and Pelota).
