| Jeff

| The De Anza Force Club is
proud to announce that one of our coaches has been invited to coach at
the United States U-18 men's National Team camp early next year. Jeff Baicher,
boys director of coaching for the Force Club is planning to join the National
Team staff in January.
"I am excited about Jeff
Baicher's involvement in the upcoming U-18 event. We have put together
a very competent and experienced staff. I am looking forward to working

About the U.S. Under-18
Men's National Team
Head Coach: Bob Jenkins
The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National
Team was created to aid in the transition for younger players between the
Under-17 Men’s National Team and the Under-20 side. The Under-18
age group is for players born in the odd-numbered years, who fall in a
gap between the Under-17 and the Under-20 age groups.
At the 2005 FIFA World Youth
Championship in UAE, 10 of the players on the U.S. Under-20 roster had
spent time with the Under-18 Men’s National Team program, and those players
in the current pool born since January 1, 1989, are eligible for the 2007
FIFA World Youth Championship in Canada.
The U.S. Under-18s have been
one of U.S. Soccer’s most successful teams in the past five years, posting
a 58-37-30 record and collecting a trophy from a foreign tournament in
four out of the past seven years.
“We will continue to put
these players in competitive situations as much as possible to help them
improve and prepare them for the next level,” said Jenkins. “Continuing
player development is still the most important aspect at this level and
with the large number of talented players we have in this group, I have
no doubt over the next few years they will continue to progress through
the National Team programs.” |
| De
Anza Force Soccer Club Philanthropic Tradition |
| For the past four years
the De Anza Force Soccer Club has been quietly, yet purposely working to
provide financial assistance to worthy Club Members. These players would
not have otherwise been able to participate within the Force, except for
the intervention of financial assistance made possible by its membership.
The Force is proud to provide
the highest level of professional soccer coaching available in the state.
Our head coaches all hold top State and National coaching licenses, and
have played soccer at a high level themselves; many of them recently retiring
from pro careers as players. It is safe to say that the Club provides very
knowledgeable and capable soccer professionals to coach its Club Members.
The costs associated with
providing this high level of professional coaching, like all forms of paid-for
expertise, is not inexpensive and that is why it is imperative that the
De Anza Force Soccer Club continues to provide financial assistance to
deserving young athletes and their families.
In 2007 the De Anza Force
Soccer Club has so far been able to generously provided financial assistance
to 19 of its players, totaling $12,790. Depending on the number of requests
during any given season, financial aid can range between 33% and 50%.
We can all feel proud of
the many years of giving to The Force Soccer Club community, as this charitable
giving is made possible by through your membership in the Club. In fact,
the fund is often subsidized by further gifts from individual members,
who give above and beyond their required dues. Even though the allotment
of financial assistance monies is all but spent for this year, applications
for Financial Aid will be accepted in March for U9 – U13 players, and in
May for U14 – U18 players. The financial aid application can be obtained
from the team's manager or the Club Treasurer.
Individuals or corporations
may still make a tax-deductible donation to the Force Soccer Club before
the 2007 tax year ends, in care of the De Anza Force Soccer Club, PO Box
2209, Sunnyvale, CA 94087. The De Anza Force Club is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation.
Thanks very much ahead of
time for your kind contribution, and… Go Force!!!

94G Blue Wins Walnut Creek Octoberfest |
| The Force 94 Girls Blue
played an outstanding weekend of soccer (Oct. 28 & 29) to win all four
of their games in the Walnut Creek Octoberfest Tournament and take home
the U12 title.
On Saturday, the team defeated
the MDSL Arsenal 1-0 and San Jose United 4-0. Sunday morning brought
a very physical game against the Livermore Explosion. Though 94G
Blue only needed to tie the Explosion to advance to the Championship game,
a goal in the last minute of the game secured a 1-0 victory.
Sunday afternoon’s Championship
game was played against the Walnut Creek Twisterz. Both teams played
hard, vying for the win. A beautiful “Bend It Like Beckham” goal
from a corner kick late in the second half gave 94G Blue the only goal
of the game, and they won 1-0 to take home the title. The whole team
can be proud, and especially the defense, that no goals were scored against
them during the tournament. Great job! |
